Above is my podcast assignment. We were to choose a song and speak of its historical significance on a podcast. I chose Chelsea Hotel #2 by Leonard Cohen, one of my favorite artists. Below are some pictures of the famous Chelsea Hotel in New York City and of Leonard Cohen himself.
I really enjoyed this activity today (partly because I love music). I think that podcasts are a wonderful way for people to express themselves. Andrew was very helpful and took time to help us all through out problems with the program. The other group members were helpful as well. We even started helping each other out as time went on.
ReplyDeleteI think that podcasts are a great way for teachers to help their students to keep up with lectures they may have missed. By recording lectures onto podcasts, students can access them at anytime, helping them to study.
Podcasts are also a great format for student projects. Students can complete online journal responses as podcasts and help each other to learn as they go.
I will definitely use podcasts in my classroom!
The book provided a lot of great examples and references of sites to visit for teachers wanting to use podcasts. I would love to find a class that is doing one regularly that we can watch. This will give students something to look forward to and help me with my lessons.
