The storytelling assignment today had us create a fairytale using GoAnimate. I chose to recreate Rapunzel. Jenny was my partner and wrote the other half of my story. I had to imbed the videos onto the home page of my blog because I was unable to do so here. Here is a link to that page:

This was a very fun assignment. GoAnimate is a very cool web tool. I want to show this to my daughter when I get home because she will love it. First, we created an account on GoAnimate and then we were supposed to create a fairytale and then switch stories to write the end for our partners. My partner was Jenny. She created a very funny ending to my story.
ReplyDeleteI will look forward to using this tool in my classroom. I think it will also be fun to encourage students to earn points (coins) in order to create more complex scenes.
I can think of many ways in which this tool will be useful in my language arts classroom. This is a great way for kids to recreate modern and classic (with a twist) scenes from stories and really get them involved in the writing process. it will also help them to think about literature in a new way.
If they are asked to add to each other's beginnings, as we were asked to do today, it will get them to think outside of the box and also make them respect the other's story. If everyone is subject to these additions, they will be more likely to add in respectful ways.
